Description:The existing operating suite was built new in 1961 and was in dire need of renovations to bring the suite up to meet current regulation and to provide a more aesthetically pleasing procedure area for patients and staff. The renovation included gutting the suite almost in its entirety and the installation of new medical gases, heating and cooling systems, and new plumbing fixture locations. New walls were built to create offices, a Pre Op bay, nurses station, a dictations area, staff break room, and a spacious family waiting area and consult room. This two phase, 16 week project took place on the second floor of the hospital, above the Cardiology unit and below the Pediatric unit.
