Description: This 5,000 square foot 3rd floor overbuild was by far the most challenging project that Heck Construction has had the opportunity to build. With complex problem solving as our specialty, we were thrilled to take this project head on. A largely complicating factor was that the build was directly above the existing inpatient operating suite and recovery area. Keeping water out of these floors below was essential. After careful planning and preparation, Heck Construction was able to pull this off with no troubles. New plumbing and med gas lines were extended from the ceiling of the floor below to serve the new space. This new operating suite contains two new C-Section delivery rooms, sub sterile room, pre and post op areas, staff locker rooms, and sleeping rooms. An existing two story stair tower had to be extended up a floor level and a new four story stair tower with a cantilevered access corridor was built to serve as a second means of egress from the addition. We were happy to see this project through to completion and feel that it was one of the most rewarding projects that Heck Construction has completed to date.
